Meet Recap

Waxahachie Girls Cross Country varsity team placed 6th out of 27 teams in the Ken Gaston Invitational held at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie on Thursday. Caymee Bigham led the way posting a season record time of 20:40, which placed her 16th out of 223 runners. Emily Mackel placed 40th with a personal record time of 21:31. Also with PR’s were Karina Huerta, Alyssa Stevens, Cathyrn Bigham, and Claudia Mackel. Bailee Jennings recorded a season record time as well.
The JV Girls were led by Brigitte Sierra with a PR of 23:42 which put her in 20th place. Also with PR’s were Zaira Vasquez, Saray Vasquez, and Sara Shipley.
The Cross Country team will travel to Mansfield on Friday to compete in the Mansfield Invitational.
