The Waxahachie Indians entered their toughest tournament of the year this past week with 15 potential Regional Qualifier teams from the 6A Region II Area at the Texas Star Golf Course. The field included Southlake, Plano, Plano West, Plano East, Flower Mound, Flower Mound Marcus, Allen, Waco Midway, Wofforth-Frenship, Hebron and Keller Timber Creek. Waxahachie was the only 5A team entered. Playing for the Indians were: Paul Gonzalez (79/73), Chuck Pinkstaff (75/83), Luke Morgan (91/87), Tobyn Hood (91/86) and Jett Tekell (83). Luke Tomison (inj) and Austin Stallcop (ill) were not able to compete.The Indians shot a 328/329 for the two days at a course ranked at the top of the list of difficult DFW area courses with a 74.1 Rating, 136 slope and playing 6900 yards. In comparison, Waxahachie Country Club is rated at 68.5 with a 104 slope and playing 6150 yards. The NDNS will be playing Hidden Creek 3/10-3/11 after which they will be off until 3/24.
