8th Grade A 1/11
Howard – 53, Lancaster – 64

8th grade boys A Team was back into full swing over after the break to face an athletic Lancaster junior high. Both teams were undefeated going into the contest. Both teams got off to a great start keeping the fans on their toes. Howard would take their 1st district lost 64-53 Cj Booker would lead all scorers with 26pts. Owen McCown would follow with 17pts. Caleb Perry had a great defensive performance with 5 blocks and 4 pts. Great work guys.

8th Grade A 1/13

8th Boys would play in the district tournament over the weekend in Lancaster without 3 of their friends. The boys went 1-2 in Tournament play losing to Corsicana and losing the last game in overtime to Terrell by 2pts. Outstanding performance Tyrik Lacey which he had a game high of 17 pts. Queontae Houston had a game high 5 steals and 10 pts. Brian Mackey would make his debut scoring 8 pts. Great showing fellas.

8th grade A 1/18
Howard – 60, Terrell– 30

8th grade boys would travel to Terrell, TX to face the tigers for the 2nd time this season. The boys lost over the weekend to the Tigers and was looking to seek revenge. The boys got off to a good start going in the halftime 33-3. Howard would win the game 60-30. Top performance goes to Owen McCown with 22 pts, Jerimiah Sanchez with 14 pts and Tyrick Lacey would have 1st 8pts of the game. The boys won the game collectively with a great defensive effort holding Terrell just 2pts in the 1st qtr. Howard boys would improve their record to 4-1 in district play 7-4 overall. Way to go boys. 5-4-1

8th Grade B 1/11
Howard – 15, Lancaster – 42

The Howard B team played a hard fought game against Lancaster.  The outcome wasn’t the way they wanted, but they should be proud with how they fought.  Ayron Carson was the leading scorer for the Warriors with 7 points.  The Warriors look to bounce back next week against Terrell.

8th Grade B 1/13
Howard – 19, Frank Seale – 16

The Howard B team played a hard fought game that game down to the final seconds against Frank Seale.  The score was back and forth until the Warriors held off Frank Seale in the final seconds with great defense.  Richard Brightwell was the leading scorer with 8 points.

8th Grade B 1/13
Howard – 35, Ennis – 16

The Howard B team played a great game against the Ennis Lions.  The Warriors got ahead early and never looked back.  The Warriors speed and execution was too much for the Lions.  The leading scorer for the Warriors was Chas Lavender with 14 points.

8th Grade B: 1/13
Howard – 27, Lancaster – 24

The Howard B team played a great game, getting revenge on the Lancaster Tigers for the first game.  Howard proved to be too much for the Tigers in the end with great executions and great defense.  The leading scorer for the Warriors was Richard Brightwell.

 

Howard 7B boys lost a nail-biter to the Lancaster Tigers last week for their first loss of the season.

 

7th Grade Boys
Howard – 33, Terrell – 5

They improve to 7-1 on the year. Leading scorers were Jerrell Richardson and Marcus Swift with 9 points apiece.
