Waco Midway handed the Lady Indians a 33-16 loss in tournament play. Lacy led the scoring with 4 points followed up by Rahy 3, Miles 2, Jones 2, Anderson 2, Jones 2, Johnson 1.

The JV Lady Indians claim silver after falling to tournament host Ennis in Championship 33-30. It was an excited contest Saturday that went back and forth for four periods, as Waxahachie was outlasted by their cross county rival. Halle Becerra led the offensive attack with 12 points, followed by Whitehead 7, Wakefield 6, McGruder 2, Marquez 2, King 1.

The Lady Indians shut down Irving Nimitz in the Grand Prairie Classic. Coach Leslie Priebe’s defense was too much for the Lady Vikings. Waxahachie held the Nimitz offense to single digits in each of the four periods. With the strength of the defense it helped the Lady Indian offense to more than double the Lady Vikings over all attack. Waxahachie rolled to a 64-31 victory. The Lady Indians net four players with double figures. Rayna Ross lead the scoring with 16 points followed up by Sarah Bush 14, Mya Williams 12, and Cassidy Morgan 10. Also contributing were Atchison 6, McGee 4, and Davis 2.

The Lady Indians knocked off Dallas Christian in tournament play Friday afternoon 73-53.
Waxahachie jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, outscoring the Lady Chargers in all four periods. Freshman Mya Williams led the offensive attack with 20 points. Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Indians were Ross 12, Bush 9, Gantt 9, Washington 7, Morgan 5, Atchison 5, McGee 3, and Young 3.

Waxahachie took an opening round win in the Grand Prairie Basketball Tournament on Thursday against Ford High School (Quinlin, TX). With tenacious defense, the Lady Indians were able to force turnovers early and jump to a large lead by the half 46 to 19. The Lady Indians continued their dominance in the second half led by freshman Mya Williams and her game high 13 points. Contributing to the scoring were Sarah Bush (12 pts), Diamond Atchison (11 pts), Cassidy Morgan (9 pts), Rayna Ross and Paris Gantt (7 pts each), Destini Washington (6 pts), Kaleah Young (5 pts).

With the win, Waxahachie moves to the Championship bracket where they will play Irving Nimitz in the second round of the tournament on Friday, November 10th.
