The Lady Indians capped off a successful tournament by defeating Crowley in the consolation championship game at the Arlington Classic. Avenging last season’s play-off loss to Crowley, Waxahachie took command of the game from the opening tip. Under the lights-out shooting of Sarah Bush, who finished with a game high 21 points, the Lady Indians jumped to a quick lead and never looked back. With the win, Waxahachie took the Consolation Trophy and finished with a very respectable 4-1 record for the tournament. After the game, Head Coach Leslie Priebe said “I am proud of what this team accomplished at the Arlington Classic. There are very few tournaments who host the level of competition we have faced over the last three days and to walk away with 4 wins says a lot about our team. The teams we played and the experience we gained will serve us well as we prepare for district play”.
Scoring for the Lady Indians were: Sarah Bush 21, Mya Williams 13, Diamond Atchison 6, Rayna Ross 5, Cassidy Morgan 3, Paris Gantt 2, and Destiny Washington 2.
